<MikeB> The children in the Kenyan schools are taught personal a socail health

education...is that true for Finland and America?

<A_jamie> Franz, how do the students in your class feel about the public

health care issue?

<A_jamie> In school, we have Health classes as part of our curriculum.

<Mickey> Mike what is socail health education

<Sean> MikeB:Yes, but more in elementary school and middle school than high

school, at least where I live

<Thomas> Here in Finland the health care used to be free, but since we have

economical problems you have to pay about 100 marks.

<Franz> I think that most of us here beleive it is a way for the govm't to

regulate the price of health care

AMerican dollars?

<MikeB> Educating parents is still a problem even in the UK where certain

vaccines are still 'risky' in that the very young children can suffer

permanent damage from the vaccine itself.

national.

<Sean> A lot of the medicine in Europe is outlawed for use here in the US

<BobS> teh government only does one thing well here

<Franz> that is a concern here , also

<BobS> war, unfortunately. Those who have experience with government health

systems in the US are terrified by the new proposals

<MikeB> Does anyone think that our own health services should in some way be

'twinned' or linked to developing countries so as to share with them our very

high standards of preventative medicine?

<Thomas> Sean; isn't the European medicine good enough?

<MikeB> What you say about 'outlawed' medicines is interesting Sean.

<Sean> Thomas: Some of it just hasn't been appoved by the FDA for use

you in your countries

troubled that the UK press is only really concerned about national issues. I

think the media has a responsibility to be developing national consciousness

surgery quicky.

<Ann> president clinton has developed a health care plan for the usa....many

people are worried that are right to choose our own doctor will be taken away

<A-Mikael> Sean: For some operations you have to wait for several months, e.g.

bypass-operations.

from another country, and I think we should have more programs to help them

learn English

<Ann> it teaches immigrants to speak english

<Sean> We have those programs here, but other disticts have trouble affording

them.

Swedish.

<Antti> Finland have two languages Finnish and Swedish, these are required to

learn.
