Hannah and friends in the Negev Desert, Israel

Hannah: Dear Friends,

Hello...... I am very proud to be a part of this list and apologize for being so quiet until now.

Mahenaz: Hannah, Hello, Shalom, and Asalam Alaaikum from Karachi

Hannah: As David Lloyd mentioned in an earlier letter - I am working together with him in the High School for Environmental Studies in Sde-Boker Israel. I am teaching Geography and Biology and also some other subjects thst we developed here during the years like Environmental studies, Scientific writing and Internet.

I was a part of the first team of teachers that started this school from the beginning - so I am also involved in Curriculum development and writing. During the last years I am involved in Teachers' in-service training and I am giving courses in: Interdisciplinary teaching, Using the Internet for Teaching and Using Research projects in teaching.

Mahenaz: I was a teacher for 10 years, teaching 3 to 6 year olds. I am also now involved in in-service teacher training, but not in the school I worked at. We have a centre, Teachers' Resource Centre, it is an NGO. We train teachers, produce publications and newsletters. One is an environmental newsletter, which is in Urdu, giving teachers ideas and projects to work on in class (primary level, here that is class 1-5) I had written earlier about the kind of workshops we run. I'm not sure if you saw that.

Hannah: One of the things that I did not learn yet - is how to write proper English and how to check my writing before sending it.... so I do hope that you will be able to understand me and what I am writing.

Mahenaz: What you write is perfectly understandable. Don't worry :-)

Hannah: I know some of the members of this group from our work in KIDLINK, and am very happy to get to know the others.

I was watching the discussion on this list, and will join you very soon....

Mahenaz: I would be very interested to get to know more about your work in Curriculum Development.

Hope to hear from you again soon.
