On 20th November 1989, the Convention on the Rights of the Child was
passed unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly. The
Convention consists of 54 Articles. WHAT ARE THESE ARTICLES? WHAT DO
THEY MEAN FOR YOU AS A CHILD? HOW CAN THEY HELP YOU AS YOU GROW UP?
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP YOURSELF, YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY AND CHILDREN
THROUGHOUT THE WORLD? HOW CAN YOU GET YOUR IDEAS AND VIEWS HEARD? Well
now is your chance. LESSON PLANS FOR TEACHERS ARE AVAILABLE!!

Co-ordinated by Bill Parks, a UNICEF Education Representative, in each
lesson you will have the opportunity to learn and participate in
discussions, dialogues, mini-projects and debates about YOUR rights as
a child. Lesson topics include: an Introduction to the Convention,
Children and Water, Food and Nutrition, Children and War, Street Kids,
Health and Education, Children with Disabilities, Children and the
Developing World, and many projects which could get your voice heard.
