I Live On An Island...
An Internet Activity to Create Geographical and Cultural Awareness for Students Living in Island Communities

Objectives:

Sixth grade students at Waimalu Elementary School in Aiea, Hawaii will compare and contrast several geographical and social characteristics of life on the island of Oahu with that of students their age from Ireland and Great Britain.

Several students from Waimalu will have the opportunity to travel to these other islands during March and April of 1999. This project will allow all the students to enjoy a virtual tour of these places as a preparation for their trip or just as a unique set of extended classroom activities.
