We've Got Friends in Australia

From our friends in Australia:

February 11, 1998

OUR NAMES ARE KEITH, BEN, SAM, TIM, ANDY, DAVID AND JESSICA OH AND MISS MONAGHAN WE ARE A CLASS AT GEEBUNG SPECIAL SCHOOL AND WE ARE LOOKING AT WORMS THIS YEAR.

February 13, 1998

Yesterday we went fishing Ben almost caught a crab, Sam and Andy caught a little catfish and Marg caught a Bream. We were careful to wear our hats, but Keith's hat fell in the water. A nice man hooked it with his rod and Keith was very happy to get it back.

On mondays we go swimming we have a pool here at school.Ben thinks school is fun.

We have not got our worms yet because Todd our groundsman is away fishing and he has the worm farm but we are learning all about them ready to start.

Hello!

Greetings from Mrs. Crouse at Delmar Elementary School. A few of my students have sat down at our computer to write about the worms. They all like to write, however they must finish their reading and math work first. Our worms are doing fine. I put in an apple core each day and the students bring back lunch leftovers. Sometimes we have too much food for the worms and we just have to throw it away. Right now we have plants growing in our worm bin! How did that happen? Well, some of the food that we throw away has seeds in it (tomatoes, apples , oranges...) and the seeds will begin to grow in the good, wet soil. The seeds start to grow but they soon die because there is no sunlight. Worms are very cool and we like having them as classroom pets. Sometimes on a "rainy day recess" we take them out and look at them on our desks. Our saying is "WORMS RULE!!" I hope that you are all doing well. Write again any time we can talk about other things, not just worms. Peace,
Mrs. Crouse
