A Fence Around the School

9-12-00

dear Tevin and gunnar

Today's temperature is 18 C It is partly cloudy.

Yes we have a fence around our school because we have to have security in South Africa. Our grandpa's hut with the thermometer is at the gate and he lets us out through the gate using a remote control switch. We also have two other security guards inside and outside. The one security guard is my uncle. We also wear a uniform to school. You can see what it looks like in the picture.

Today is partly cloudy colder than yesterday. I am 8 years old and I have no brothers and sisters but a cousin Candice.

Love dylan

Hi Dylan, Nikita, Melissa and Mrs. Visser,

The temperature at 11 AM is 79F and 26C. We are very excited and have to go back to reading about the security at your school. You have security and we don't. Is your school in the city or the country?

Hi Tevin and Gunnar,

Today it is 17C and although the sun is shining it is cold and it has snowed on the mountains. We never get snow in Cape Town. We live in a city. Did you open our web page about the Penguins?

regards,
Dylan and Mrs Visser

Hi Dylan, Melissa, Nikita and Mrs. Visser,

The temperature in Delmar today is 73F which is 23C. It is sunny today. We had a whole bunch of snow last year and we didn't go to school and that was fun. Tevin played in the snow. He tried to make a snowman but failed because the snow fell apart every time he tried to pick it up. Gunnar played with his sled at the park and he threw snowballs at his mom and he says he made 10 snowmen. Then they slid on their bottoms on the ice.

Write back soon. Thank you for your letter. We like to get your letters.

Your friends,
Tevin, Gunnar, Mrs. Hansen and Mrs. Weeg

Hi Tevin and Gunnar

We are talking to you about the temperature. Today is sunnier and the temperature is 19C. Today the olympic games are opening and I want to watch it on television. The games are in Sydney, Australia. Australia has very much the same temperature as South Africa because both countries are in the south part of the world.Today is Friday and we are playing soccer at the soccer field. What sport do you play?

Regards,
Dylan and Mrs Visser

Hi Dylan, Melissa, Nikita, and Mrs. Visser,

Today is Friday. The temperature is 70F. We had a big thunderstorm last night. Tevin slept through the storm but everyone else was awaken by the storm.

We did see your penguin web site. It was beautiful and we liked it a lot Dylan can you sent us a picture of the sunset of Cape Town? We would also like a picture of you and the girls, including your teacher?

We are sending you the URL for good information on the Olympics. Perhaps we could both view it and discuss. Gunnar plays soccer on a team. Tevin is not on a soccer team. Darell plays football.

Have a good week end. We'll talk to you on Monday.

Your friends,
Tevin, Gunnar, Darell, Mrs. Hansen and Mrs. Weeg

Dear Dylan, Nikki, Melissa and Mrs. Visser,

We miss hearing from you. We hope everything is OK and that you are just busy.

After Friday we will not be able to talk to you for three weeks because we will be on vacation. We are on vacation until October 19th. We attend school year round. Mrs. Weeg will not be on vacation so she will try to get some students to write to you until we come back.

The temperature here today is 77F. It has gone up 15 degrees since Tevin heard on TV this morning.

Sincerely,
Tevin and Gunnar
